Caring for your Hide
Our full skin cow hide rugs are crafted in Argentina and
have a natural suede finish. Vacuum or
shake regularly to remove dust and small particles of dirt. Rotate your rug from time to time to ensure
that it wears evenly. Cowhides do not like damp or wet conditions. If possible, occasionally place your cowhide
outside on a sunny day to air, underside facing the sun. Don’t soak the hide or
put into the washing machine.
Brushing hides with a hard plastic brush is a good way of removing heavy mud or dirt. This can help straighten the hair follicles and redistributes oils, leaving skins soft and glossy. For minor spills immediately soak up excess liquid with a paper towel or sponge. Then wipe with a damp (not wet) cloth using a mild soapy solution. You can wipe or rub the hair vigorously in any direction. Do not bleach.
